Formed in 2011, Refined Creative raises the awareness of justice, international development, and innovations through visual storytelling. By building relationships through partnerships with philanthropy, independent producers, and production companies. Our team connects their audiences to unheard voices from the African continent and around the world.

Refined Creative tells stories through documentaries, branded content, and scripted narratives. Our producers have supported productions on the continent for the Open Society Foundation, Oxfam, the World Bank, the US State Department, and The Ministry of Education in Rwanda, My Africa Is and An African City.
Our focus on non-fiction content has been used for educational initiatives, awareness-raising, fundraising, and campaigns.
We have been operating from our Accra office since 2014, and filming in Ghana since 2012. Refined Creative has over 50 years of combined experience in NOG, Development, and Broadcast in North America, South America, Africa, Asia, and Europe. In the first half of 2017, our team has worked with Non-governmental organizations and fortune 100 companies on conservation solutions in Zimbabwe, human rights issues and xenophobia in South Africa, Car Smuggling in Ghana, minority and disability rights in Kenya, and Freedom of Speech rights in Togo.
Our team has experience creating long and short-form content for global broadcasters in over 100 countries for web and TV distribution and featured nonscripted documentary programs such as National Geographic, Apple TV +, YouTube Originals, Hulu and CNN, BBC, Discovery Channel, Al Jazeera, since 2000.

From hands-on storytelling and visual capture training in rural communities to informational videos to consulting, our team works with everyday people, creatives, and individuals.
By creating visually attractive and engaging tales, branded video content and high- quality lifestyle programs, we help our clients communicate their stories in extraordinary ways. We offer a full video production service, from concept to completion, including video filming and post- production.
We work with communities to develop documentaries, Case studies, Explainer Videos, Community PSAs, localized training videos, podcasts, photo narratives, and basic video and photography training.

Refined Creative’s experienced producers have insight into the customs and culture and collaborate with clients to create informed authentic narratives for fiction and nonfiction projects.
Fixer and Local Production Manager: Oversees production logistics from start to finish, from booking local crew, gear, and vehicles to day-to-day operations. in close collaboration with the EP, line producers, Director, and Crew.
Field Producer: Our field producers have years of practical exposure and a deep understanding of Ghana from working throughout the country in addition to having a vast network of contacts, relationships and knowledge of locations, local temperament and customs developed over years allowing them to collaborate with our clients to create informed authentic narratives for fiction and nonfiction projects.
Location Scouting: Our Fixer and Field Producer’s knowledge and familiarity with locations around the country enables them to overcome language barriers, and connect with foreign and local crews to keep local communities happy.
Press Passes & Location Permissions: Every country has its own media protocols with ministries of information or film commissions with various permit application criteria. We work with the local authorities and the foreign crews to have a transparent and smooth process.
Casting/Talent Acquisition: We provide research and development support to identify/follow up with potential talent.
Securing Crews: Over the years, we have filmed across Africa and have established strong working relationships with fixers, and crews working in multiple countries: Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. This includes directors, DPs, Producers, script supervisors, Camera Operators, some sound mixers, and a number of PAs. We can add individual crew members to your team, or we can put together a full crew that’s just right for the job.
Equipment Rental: Within many parts of Africa, grip and production houses can have a limited supply of production gear, and based on our experience and relationships, we make sure crews are aware of the resources and potential local hurdles crews may face in most situations.
