As the lead consultant for Distribution and Development at Refined Creative, Florence has more than a decade’s experience in the social and economic welfare of urban communities. She graduated from New York University where she studied urban policy and economics. As a social entrepreneur and project management consultant in both New York and Accra, Florence has extensive experience and pulls in expertise from a valuable network while leveraging her technical acumen on every project.
Florence believes in the power of education and its impact on the lives of children. After completing Industrial Engineering at Stanford University as an undergrad, she has pursued teaching and training for children. . As a Teach for America corps, working in Washington, D.C., Florence understands the impact of public policy on social and economic welfare of urban communities. Better policies strengthen economic power. Over the last decade, she has worked with a varying number of non-profit and public organizations, with primary focus on community and economic development. She is the Owner and Principal AgroAdu, a project management consultancy as well as a Co-founder and CEO of LEAP Transmedia, a content production company, tailored for children. A highlight of her career was facilitating the completion of over 1,000,000 square feet of commercial residential and institutional space in New York City.
Florence clearly loves children and when she is not working on policy advocacy through storytelling, she runs Gbekembe, a children’s clothing and accessories fashion line. Also an aspiring writer, she is currently working on a biography project about Robert C Weaver, the inaugural Secretary of State of the US Department of Housing and Urban Development. Weaver is also the first African-American to appointed to cabinet position.
